Anyone who has been in or near my classroom knows that I believe in the Read Aloud, no matter what grade. Reading aloud creates a shared experience that springboards conversations where we can learn how to agree, disagree, and adapt our ideas. The world can use all of that right now, and it is the thing that I miss the most about being a classroom teacher. So don't miss out on the opportunity to read with the young people in your life and talk--really talk--about it. You'll be glad you did.
